Signal and Wise got a wisdom upgrade
August 16, 2026#Some quick hits from the Signal and Wise workshop this week:
1. The fact-checker got a spine.
If you are using the fact checker, till now when a message came back "hmm, not sure about this!" we sent it anyway with a little caveat. Not anymore. Now if our fact-checker flags something as actually wrong (not just unverifiable), we scrap it and try again — up to a couple of times — before it ever reaches your in-box. If a topic still can't produce something we're confident in, we'll tell you instead of guessing. Better a short note from us than anti-wisdom in your signal.
2. Stale signals? Give it a stretch.
Your topic prompt isn't a "set it and forget it" — the longer it sits untouched, the more likely you'll start seeing messages that feel a little too familiar. Pop into your topic settings anytime and tweak the angle, the tone, or just ask for something new. It's free, it's instant, and it keeps things fresh.
3. Are we ending up in junk mail?
A few of you have mentioned it — sorry about that! The fix takes 10 seconds:
Gmail: open the email, click the three dots (⋮), choose "Mark as not spam," or drag it into your Primary tab.
Outlook: right-click the email → "Not junk" (or add Signals@signalandwise.com to your Safe Senders list).
Apple Mail: open the email, tap "Not Junk" if it appears at the top, or add us to Contacts. Doing this once usually fixes it for good.
And if email just isn't working for you — I am looking at text message or slack delivery as an option. Reply and let me know if that'd be useful; it helps prioritize.
Thanks for reading (and for putting up with the once-spineless fact-checker).
